Internal Medicine Site Visit Summary

During my two site visits I presented a patient with a COPD exacerbation and a patient with a left occipitotemporal infarction due to an occlusion of the left PCA and left M2 branch of the middle cerebral artery. We thoroughly discussed the review of systems and went through methods to cut down the ROS without missing important points. We also discussed using a range for the vitals instead of just including the current vitals. Over the course of my rotations I have practiced writing assessments and plans for the patients I worked with. I realized I have improved greatly, but can still use a little practice. My site evaluator gave me some important tips on ways to perfect my plan. I also presented an article on giving antibiotics for COPD exacerbations, there are times when it isn’t necessary and times when it should be given. Finally, we went through my pharmacology cards. My site evaluator was able to add important points and considerations.
