I had the opportunity to have my site visit with Dr. Saint Martin. During my site visit I presented a teenager who suffers from depression and had suicidal ideation. I learned about the risk factors for suicide and about the important steps to take before discharging a patient who presents with suicidal ideation. I also got to hear from my colleagues and hear their experiences. Dr. Saint Martin requests that our pharmacology cards have a section on evidence of efficacy. This gave me the opportunity to further practice researching topics. I intend to take the knowledge and skills I have gained to use in the future when I start practicing as a physician assistant.
