I had two site visits with Dr. Davidson and my classmate Christina Shamrock. These visits gave me the opportunity to go over my learning and what I have yet to learn. Dr. Davidson discussed some of the important pieces of information to include in a geriatric history and physical. She stressed the importance of mentioning the social environment, and overall independence/dependence of the geriatric patient early in the HPI. We briefly discussed the geriatric assessment. Dr. Davidson mentored me in improving both my patient notes and creating presentations which helped me immensely while doing my second and third history and physical. The advice she gave me included adding more detail in both my physical exam and the assessment. Having Christina with me allowed me to gain from her experiences.  She presented some interesting cases, one of which brought out the importance of doing medication reconciliation. Overall, I was incredibly happy with the site visit and will apply the lessons learned throughout my career.
